Few things to be noted before Shampooing Your Dog

  • Do not bath your Dog very often, it'd dry out the skin and drain the healthy oils from the skin. This would in turn lead to irritation & Scratching
  • You will not be able to remove all the tangles when the fur is wet, so brush the coat thoroughly before the bath
  • Use warm but not hot water
  • Choose the correct shampoo depending upon your Dog's skin type, Human shampoos should never be used as it is acidic to animal's skin

Dog growl : why and what to do?

The most common issue all of the dog owners/lovers face is the growling of dogs. It is necessary to find why does it growl and what we need to do.

Why does your dog growl?

Dogs might growl for many reasons. When they

  • feel frightened
  • feel insecured
  • act to defend themselves
  • become aggressive for any reason
  • dislike something/someone
  • want to warn
  • are about to bite.

While these are some common reasons, an expert can find the exact reason of the growl with the uniqueness in tone.

What should we do:

The most important thing is never punish your dog when it is growling. Neither teach your dog not to growl. Growling is a warning that the dog is uncomfortable with something and it might snap. Teaching the dog not to growl will make us loose the warning signal.

Take a step back and rest. Try to find the reason why he is uncomfortable. Stop whatever you are doing that makes your dog uncomfortable.

These are some common suggestions when your your growls. If you see this happening persistently, you need to consult a trainer or a veterinarian.
